ORGANIZATION
Milwaukee Women Inc. (MWi) is a catalyst for change through its benchmarking research, education and advocacy, and providing resources and programs that can help Wisconsin companies and organizations move the needle even further. MWi is committed to being a trusted resource to business leaders and boards of public and private companies to increase diversity in corporate governance, changing the impact of leadership and, ultimately, the performance of the Wisconsin business community. Over the past 20+ years, MWi’s annual research has shown a steady, upward trend in women on Wisconsin boards. The percentage of women on the boards of the top 50 Wisconsin public companies has increased from 9.3% in 2003 to 30.5% in 2024, slightly above the national average of 30%. In addition, 98% (49/50) of the top public companies in Wisconsin have at least one-woman board member. While growth has slowed more recently, this is a pivotal moment to accelerate momentum with renewed focus and bold strategies.
